Defibrillators in Fairford

There are newer units are at the old phone box (Marlborough Junction) and outside the Fire Station. The emergency services will only direct you to a unit within 200 metres of an incident so I’m working with the Town Council and colleagues in neighbouring wards to add more coverage in Fairford. The shape of the town makes placement tricky but we hope to close the main gaps in coverage in the next year.

More defibrillators are being placed in the community to be used before an Ambulance arrives. Using a defibrillator in the minutes before an Ambulance arrives can double someone’s chances of survival. A defibrillator can be used with no training but always call 999 first. The machine analyses someone’s heart rhythm and uses visual or voice prompts to guide you through the right steps what to do.
