Whilst officers have been out on patrol in the Fairford and Lechlade area’s, they have come across a number of vehicles which have had their car boot and doors left unlocked and fully open with valuable items left inside.
Most vehicle crime is preventable and it can take as little as 10 seconds for a thief to steal something from your car.

Below is some crime prevention advice you can follow to prevent becoming a car crime statistic.  

* LOCK YOUR CAR WHENEVER YOU LEAVE IT (NO MATTER HOW SAFE YOU THINK YOUR STREET IS)
* REMOVE ALL VALUABLE ITEMS FROM WITHIN THE CAR
* REMOVE ALL JACKETS / SAT NAVS AND IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
* REGISTER YOU CAR AND CONTENTS WITH IMMOBILISE, A FREE REGISTRATION SERVICE
