This is a message from the Fairford & Lechlade Neighbourhood Policing Team.Gloucestershire Police have been receiving numerous calls about the below courier fraud:Victims have been receiving phone calls from people pretending to be from the bank, saying that they need to come round to their address to swap bank cards due to the colour of it changing. When they turn up at the address with envelopes, they then ask for the PIN number of the old card and give out a fake new PIN number for the fake new card. Unfortunately, some people have fallen for this and have had money subsequently taken out of their accounts.The fraudsters that arrive at addresses are described as Eastern European males, driving a black Seat Leon and wearing high viz yellow/orange tabards.We urge people never to divulge bank details or PIN numbers to anyone and if they are in doubt, to ring their bank and check.If anyone has been on the receiving end of this scam, please can you contact police as a matter of urgency, quoting Inc 181 29/7/19Many Thanks.
