Winter Weather

by andrewdoherty on 1 February, 2019

Even though Fairford looks quite beautiful covered in a blanket of snow, it does pose some challenges.

When adverse weather comes it can be difficult for many residents to get about safely in the town. If you are able to, then you can help by keeping the pavement clear outside your house, like we did here on Coronation Street.

The advice from the Local Government Association is to clear the snow when it is fresh and loose with a shovel (not water as it can refreeze). Next, spread salt, sand or ash over the path to keep it from refreezing and provide extra grip underfoot. Getting “sued”, a common fear, is very unlikely if you use reasonable care and don’t make it worse.
